About Us
The VCVS story
VCVS was founded by longtime friends and colleagues, Dr. Kelly Might and Dr. Katie Kennedy, to provide veterinary emergency and specialty services to the Central Texas area. Kelly and Katie met while performing their surgical residencies at Washington State University in 2011. They became fast friends and shared dreams of opening a specialty and emergency facility together as part of their professional trajectory.
With shared values championing loyalty, gold-standard medicine, and compassionate treatment of all, VCVS was born. In a profession where corporate consolidation has influenced how medicine is practiced and how people are treated, their desire to create a diverse and inclusive community of veterinary professionals and pet owners is not only achievable, but sorely needed.
