What you can expect from your visit to the Emergency Room?

  • Your pet will be immediately seen by a nurse to be triaged. This is a rapid assessment including vital signs (heart rate, temperature, etc.) and a brief history.
  • Patients will be prioritized based on the severity of their illness. This means that if you are waiting to see a doctor, it’s a good thing – the pets around you are sicker than yours.
  • Our doctors will discuss their findings and propose a plan to gather more information and/or help your pet feel better. If advanced diagnostics or treatments are needed, your pet may be admitted to the hospital to continued care with our Critical Care or other specialty services.
